Tobacco sorts

During the long practice more than 100 sorts were discovered and all of them were got from the two main sorts. This is the Nicotiana tabacum and Nicotiana rustica or the Virginia tobacco and the rural tobacco.

The Virginia tobacco can achieve more than two meters in height and one plant has eight-twenty leaves that are sixty centimetres in length. This was the sort from which the majority of tobacco sorts were created that are usually used for the production of good tobacco.

Besides the Virginian tobacco people also use Maryland tobacco, Kentuckian tobacco, etc.

The rural tobacco is cultivated for cheap cigarettes and tobacco. The height of this sort is not more than the meter and it is rather whimsical to certain climatic conditions.

This plant as some other plants contains nicotine that has the stimulate effect in big dozes. And as it is known the drop of nicotine would be enough to kill the horse. And besides nicotine it also contains some aromatic and flavouring substances.

The beans of tobacco are very small. There are 12 thousand of them in one gram. And one bean is enough to get one plant. And to plant the whole field with tobacco you'll need only several grams of beans.
